Mental health campaign with engagement strategy.

Regardless of recent advances in Australia, social awareness remains largely unconnected to the plight of the average individual with poor mental health. The present (2015) execution of campaign material lacks sincerity.  There is still a social stigma preventing open and organic discussion for young people diagnosed with anxiety.

I explored existing platforms where I collated and analysed the visual and verbal language used. Primary research calling help lines, interviewing and chatting to young people suffering from mental health allowed me to find the problem. The available material talked AT people, it called for little engagement, reflection or empathy from the individual.

My goal became to provide information with empathy to young people in a relatable manner. I designed a collection of creative tools for young people to develop an in depth understanding of their own minds. This included facts, actionable steps, and humorous insights that required individuals to engage with the campaign/ product.
